Here is a guide to hanging your own wall mounted electric fireplaces, but every fire brand will come with their own specific instructions. You can hang a wall mounted electric fireplace on almost any wall, just like a picture or flat-screen TV. Most wall-mounted electric fireplaces come with brackets and hardware needed for installation.
Can you install a wall mounted electric fire yourself?
Yes you can, as wall mounted electric fires don’t require any structural modifications. It is recommended however to enlist the help of a friend if it is large fire, as they can be quite heavy.
How to hang to the electric fire step by step.
A handy step we like to mention is to simply turn on the fire and plug it in and make sure everything is working before you hang it.
Ensure all the brackets and screws are there and you have all the tools you need.
Make sure all the components of the fire are there including your choice of either pebble or logs etc.
Find a safe location close to a power outlet, never use an extension cord.
Make sure you leave appropriate clearance for heat coming out of the fire. It varies on each fire, it may come from the top, front or bottom of the fire unit. Please reference your particular fires own instruction manual for this. Note: If you want a fireplace to hang below your TV – bottom and front heat units are the best so heat coming from the top of a fire does not over heat your television.
Attach the brackets to the wall – take into account the measurements of your fire and where the slots are at the back of the fire so you can align the slots to the bracket – Make sure you attach to the wooden studs behind the wall or use plastic anchors to take the weight.
Hang the fire on the slots at the back of the fire to your brackets.
Attach the bottom brackets – some fires also come with bottom brackets for extra support.
Arrange the logs or pepples to your liking, plug in your fire and put your feet up.
Bioethanol fires are a very versatile real flame fire. They can be fit into almost any fireplace surround, wall divider, cinewall, TV feature wall, and much more. They can also be portable, they are available as stand alone fire suites or as table top heaters. Bioethanol Fires can also be use as outdoor heaters. They are a real flame fire, and burn bioethanol liquid fuel.
They are the most eco friendly fire on the market today. Bioethanol fuel is made from the by-products of growing sugar-beet, when using bio ethanol fuel, the CO2 produced by the fire is equal to the amount of CO2 removed from the atmosphere by the plants while growing. This makes the fuel and these fires very environmentally friendly with a low carbon footprint.

Customise your landscape gas fire with complete flexibility of design. Choose from oak or rustic log fuel beds, five ceramic back liners and two trim designs – all with the choice of Fireslide control or an advanced remote control for the ultimate convenience.
The 400 Fireslide Luminaire is the first inset model in the Inspire range, offering a choice of three back liners, two trims each available in three-sided or four-sided designs, as well as a choice of three luxurious suites.
The Inspire 500, 600, 800 and 1000 can be wall-mounted with a frameless kit or choice of trim, whilst the 400 model provides an inset option with a unique campfire fuel bed and choice of trims. All Inspire fires (excluding 1000) can also be incorporated into a choice of surround suites, each made from natural limestone, to create a stunning focal point in the home. The fires are glass fronted and the 500, 600, 800 and 1000 models offer a choice of fuel bed and ceramic back liner, giving you exactly the design you want to suit your living room.
For added flexibility of installation, a gather hood connector kit, designed exclusively for the Inspire collection, allows the fire to connect to a flexible flue system. Even servicing is made easy, thanks to the way in which the entire burner assembly slides out.
The ‘Real’ flame effect is achieved by introducing a second burner into the ceramic logs. This generates denser and higher flames that lap gently around the cermic logs. The logs themselves have a more natural colour and texture, providing an even better fireplace experience.
Eco Wave, beautiful flames and comfortable heat
Innovative DRU Maestro gas fires are equipped with the energy-efficient Eco Wave digital control system. This means that the temperature in the room remains comfortable and you do not need to turn off the fire. So you can continue to enjoy the realistic flames, whilst saving up to 50% on your energy!
Before you choose your new gas stove or fire, you will need to know which type of chimney or flue you have, as this dictates your choice of stove or fire.
Chimneys & Pre-fabricated Flues
Brick/Stone Chimney (Class 1)
The classic brick built chimney is suitable for all gas fires. You will see a brick chimney rises above your roof. It will usually have a traditional chimney pot but may have a gas terminal. A chimney relies on the natural circulation of heating air to expel the products of combustion up your chimney.
Pre-fabricated Flues (Class 1 & 2)
Pre-fabricated chimneys are suitable for most gas fires dependent on flue depth and diameter. You will see a metal flue cowl on your roof. Some are all metal whilst others may have a short rectangular pot (but without a chimney stack). These flues create the same circulation of heated air as a brick or stone chimney.
If you have neither a chimney or Prefabricated Flue then a precast flue or balanced flue may be installed.
Pre-cast Flue (Class 2)
Pre-Cast Flue (Class 2) Pre-cast flues are found in most modern homes and are suitable for slimline gas fires. You can identify them by either a metal flue cowl or a raised ridge terminal on your roof. *Deep appliances however may be able to be installed with the use of either a spacer kit or deeper rebate into the fireplace.
An Yes! You can even get a Gas fire with no chimney at all!
A balanced flue gas fire is completely sealed from the front of your room. Instead of a traditional chimney, they work by venting air via a pair of co-axial tubes that pass horizontally through any external wall.
Flueless gas fires require no flue at all, just an air vent placed in your room. They use a built-in catalytic converter to clean any exhaust gasses.
A powerflue gas fire works similarly to a balanced flue, but uses a fan to remove fumes.
If you are unsure about what chimney or flue system you have, our professional Gas Fire Installer can confirm this during an on site Fire Safety Survey and Consultation at your home. Please contact us for any enquiries or book a consultation.
